I am leaving for my wedding location tomorrow. In 24 hours I will be on a tarmack bound for Costa Rica. The wedding is in a week. A week from today. The last 24 hours have been hilarious with all the things that can go WEIRD, not wrong. We are staying at several places between the airport city and the destination city in-country so there are more chances for reservation mix-ups. In my triple confirming reservations these mix-ups have popped up and been dealt with in some creative fashions. For example, on one of our nights in the airport city two room reservations were dropped. So instead of everyone staying at one spot my fiance and his BFF (that he never gets to see) are going to a place where there is a swim-up bar, rooftop bar, and mechanical bull on premises for the night. They are thrilled with the compromise and I am happy for them. I now expect that when he meets his family at the airport the next day he could be hungover or still drunk.
However it seems like the universe wants to mess with me in strange ways. I was getting a bowl of rice and beans through a drive-thru on Friday in a rush to do some weekday errands. After I ordered I left the speaker and pulled up. As I was counting my money someone hit me in the drive-thru. WTF? I do not usually do fast food, is this common to get hit in the drive-thru while you are stopped?? I had to laugh it off and asked the other driver to pay better attention or someone could get hurt. Then yesterday the oddest thing happened. I was attacked by a rooster. Yes, a rooster. I live in Miami and share a huge yard with my neighbor who has a lot of animals. She has a pig, dogs, a bird aviary, iguanas, and a rooster/hen set. The rooster and I have been cool since she got it but the pair have come under attack by another neighbor's guard dog that has been getting loose in the past couple of weeks. Apparently the hen can no longer lay eggs as a result of the last attack. So that is my only explanation for the fury of the rooster's ambush. The back of my knee is gouged and I have scratches on both legs, my stomach and my arm. They hurt so bad and were a bit bloody the first time they had to be cleaned. I was a bit upset at first because a salmonella knife cut my skin but they seem to be healing and the gouge is no longer black like it was right after the attack. I asked my Chinese best friend if it is good luck to be attacked by a rooster. She said almost everything can be good luck, especially something with a zodiac animal. LIES! I have a supportive bestest that will say anything to make me happy this week and I love it! So yes, I got a good luck cock attack before the wedding.
Now I am a bit nervous to leave the house. The rooster usually stays away from my section of yard but you never know if you can get ambushed while gardening or walking to the car. LOL!
Future brides. I write all this because you need to let go and have a sense of humor as your day approaches or else your nerves will be shot! Past brides, can I get some commiseration on this... what random stuff has happened to you before the big "I DO"??

I am a newbie---just engaged---but your post cracks me up : ) I will definitely have to maintain a sense of humor. My boyfriend and I are coordinating the wedding long distance from both the vacation and each other (he is in the Northeast, I'm in Virginia, the wedding's gonna be in Texas), so I'm sure I'll have hilarious stories come this time next year!! I hope your wedding went well! : )
