Hi Blushing Brides,
In addition to being a sugar addict, some of you may know that my day job is writing for a wedding website. We are brainstorming for a story about creative things to do with your wedding dress after the Big Day, and we're stumped! So far we have wedding quilts and re-fashioning the dress into something modern for your daughter to wear, but that's it! Did anyone in this group do something particularly chic or canny with their wedding day white? If so, please post below. Thanks!
Ralph Lauren
Sorry, not me. I just had the ice cream stain dry cleaned and hung it up in my closet. My dress isn't white OR poofy though, so if I ever wanted to wear it again (sans jacket) I could.
1check out this website www.trashthedress.com It's a cool option on what to do with your wedding dress.. The idea is to wear the dress and to take pictures in completely odd (often dirty) scenarios to produce artsy images without caring so much about what happens to the dress....
another neat idea is to donate it to charity (example: www.makingmemories.com for the Breast Cancer Society)

2this might sound silly but i kinda like the idea of completely trimming the dress down to a number you can wear out on the town on wedding anniversaries!
3I was married a year ago...I am thinking of making some fancy bedroom throw pillow covers out of it, and perhaps a Christening Gown for our future baby (whenever). They should be beautiful...
What wedding site do you write for? I love weddings and the planning stuff. My sister and I opened an online wedding and party favor store in January. Check it out our site if you get a chance. www.Cruisenfavors.com.
4I've been thinking that I will probably use it as a prom or nice evening dress for my daughter [[if I ever have one]] or maybe just keeping it! I would NEVER sell a wedding dress. It's too precious of a memory.
5In Chicago there is a store called White Chicago that re-sells designer wedding dresses (usually once-worn) on consignment. You could recoup some of your (hefty) wedding costs by taking advantage of this service. I am getting married next year and plan on making this store my first stop in the search for the perfect dress.
6Maybe you could donate it?
I'm sure there are organizations out there that collect wedding dresses for those who can't afford
7The cool thing about an Indian's wedding dress is the fact that it's no different from a normal sari (except it's probably very expensive silk with a gold border).
8You can totally wear it to any other special occasion and not look out of place
