So I am newly engaged and my wedding is still over 2 1/2 years away, but I am having so much fun dreaming and pre-planning! I have this idea, but before I get too attached to it, I want to make sure that people don't think I'm nutso!

So you know how when people were first coming to America from Europe, the men would come over, build a house, get settled then send for their wives. I imagine than when the women came they brought of their nice things - dresses, silver candlesticks, fine linens - and put them into the rough 2 room log hut that their husband had build. That's the ambiance that I want my ceremony and reception to have. Victorian elegance meets rustic!

The ceremony will be in the woods beneath a small tent. Since I'm getting married in November, the tent will be heated with several gas fire pits and the brides maids and I will be wearing fur. Likewise, ladies will be offered fleece wraps as they arrive. The isle and alter will be liked with rough branches and logs and my father will make an arch way out of rough lumber. My white isle runner will lay right on the ground. However, the arch way will be covered in roses and all of the chairs will be covered with satin seat covers!

The reception will follow the same theme, but we will move into a barn. I am not going to cover the walls or floor, but simply layout a dance floor and several tables in complete formal dress, and more roses!

I'm also looking for suggestions of colors. I know that I want either red or dark red (black baccara) roses, but I can decide on colors for my attendance to wear or for my linens to be. I was leaning toward burnt orange, but now I'm thinking maybe dark grey. Since it will be late fall, I want to stay away from any colors that will be too abundant (golds or browns) and anything that might look Christmasy. My attendance will be wearing mink (faux) shaws, so I also need something that will look good with that.

Help!
