Sure, this day is all about you you you, but just think about how long your mom has been waiting to see you in your big, poufy, white (or sleek, silky ivory) dress. The truth is, your wedding is just as much mom's day as it is yours, so you have to make sure that mama looks equally smashing! She may already be a MILF, so she won't have any problems looking H-O-T; or she may be more demure, so she may need a bit of a nudge to wear a smashing gown. Here are some dress ideas to share with her for her - I mean - your big day!
For a black-tie affair:

Satin Strapless Ball Gown, $180.
La Belle Style with Organza and Lace, $287.

I like the jade green strapless ballgown!
1Those are SO much better than what most moms wear!
2I don't think mothers should wear strapless or halterneck. Something a little more mom-like, please. But maybe I should just stop picturing my own mom in these dresses.
3These look really nice. My mom had such a hard time finding something to wear to my wedding. She ended up getting something nice, but I think she would have liked something more like these!
4I dont think many brides would want their moms looking MILFified at their weddings. I think that could easily flip the bridezilla switch!
5i would be REALLY embarassed if my mom wore the second one.
6I can't picture my mother in any of the first four. At almost 60 years old, I'm pretty sure she would not be comfortable in a strapless or halter dress. I think there are ways for mothers of the bride to look fabulous, while still dressing age-appropriate. I mean, I guess if you had your daughter at 20, and she was getting married at 20, they would be practical... but at least in my situation, my mother would be appalled if I suggested dresses like this!
7hahahahhahah since when did girls call other moms' MIlf? lol but glad to see girls finally using it. As for the dress, when girls turn into the lady stature, they should the right to look good and have mature elegant clothes such as those in those pix. A lady should not be afraid to express her maturity and her sexiness.
8THIS is a subject so much more difficult than that of dressing the bride! Why oh why do so many MotBs look so awful on their daughter's wedding days? Do daughters do it on purpose to make them look better (like what they sometimes say about bridesmaids' dresses)?
That strapless satin ballgown is really pretty, but too young for most moms, and it would almost definitely compete with the bride's dress. I thought the Spencer Alexis had the most promise. But I really want to post a photo of my mom at my wedding -- she looked so great in a Tahari suit/skirt set.
9True, some mothers-of-the-bride are in their 60s or older, so they won't dare to wear strapless, but there are also a lot of younger moms who love to dress a bit sexy. It all depends on their style. I think the suits are perfect for the former group!
10OMGosh, as a mom myself, I would totally wear something like that! Of course, I'm not rude so I wouldn't dare think about trying to compete with the bride... but those are beautiful!
11what's MILF? Sorry, I'm no native speaker so I have no idea. but I want to learn!
12It was hard shopping for a dress that my mom was comfortable enough to wear for my sister's wedding. It seems like MOB dresses are either too frumpy or too hoochie. It takes a balance to find something that is elegant and tasteful as well as flattering.
13She ended up finding a wonderful dress though...after 5 months of searching! But she found it in May and the wedding was in July, so she did very well.
14I think there are a lot of different choices here so any mom should be able to find some inspiration! I know my mom would rock any one of those except maybe the strapless which looks a little cotillion for her tastes.
Missnomi - It's from a movie called American Pie it's an acronym that's a little crude but essentially means "hot mom".
15love the blue
16As something I look forward to one day when any of my children get married, I would want to look my best and choose appropriately yet stylin all the way. What you wear depends on what looks best on you and some moms really stay in shape and could pull off any of these looks.
17Lol, I only found out what a MILF was about a month ago and was so shocked. Now of course I think its hilarious! You'd have such a hard time getting my mom into ANY of those clothes. Not that they're bad, just so not her style! Great choices though fab!
18MILF. Mon I would like to f**k. No?
19They all appear to be appropriate given the Mom's age and the condition of her body type of course. Hey! many, many women in their 50's/ 60's STILL are entitled to look glamorous and SHOULD. I'm not saying they should look like they are going to a senior prom but their are no rules for looking sophisticated, no matter what their AGE is. Having said that, I prefer suits on maybe grandmother's rather then the Mom.
20Those price tags are surprisingly amazing, not over the top for any of them.
21thanks you all, I know the film but I just didn't get the acronym. I only heard it in the film, I guess the expression got adopted into every day language (sort of) afterwards?
22I would love it if I were able to get my mom to wear any of these!!!
23My mom is not 60, and she would wear these.
