Holy Crap!!

I have to tell you this, but before I start, let me say that I LOVE my Gramma more than triple chocolate mousse (that's saying a lot for me Smiling ).

So, I was talking to my Gram last night and we were chatting about the future wedding and I couldn't believe what she said.

"So, now that you're engaged, are you going to cook him meat?"

My head just about exploded and I said "Gram, I'm a VEGETARIAN, remember?"

"Yeah, but that doesn't mean he has to be too. You've got to cook your man meat!"

"If he wants it, he can cook for himself, Gramma," I said in a strong Women's Rights kind of way."

"I hope he doesn't leave you for a meat-cooking wife."

(sigh)

I didn't want to argue with her. Times have changed and my honey and I both know that our relationship is built on equality. Sure, we help each other out, and do things for each other, but no one is expected to do anything just because of their gender.

Just because he's a guy doesn't mean he has to plow our driveway or mow the lawn. And just because I'm a girl doesn't mean that I have to stay home and take care of the kids (when we have them) and do all the laundry.

I guess my Gram will never understand that.
