My fiance and I were trying to pick a date for our wedding. He would like for it to be sometime this year and I told him there is no way I can plan a wedding in less than a year. I'm very particular and know I would be stressed out if I felt I didn't have enough time. We compromised and picked March to be our month but then had to decide on a date. I already knew I wanted a Friday early evening wedding. I want it to be formal for the most part and I always think of Saturday weddings as being more casual...just my view. So looking at the Fridays in March one stuck out to me...Friday the 13th. It's a bit off center but a day that will be remembered for sure. I've shared our date with only a few people in the wedding party and they've said it doesn't bother them and that it's not their wedding. Do you really think one day has more luck than another? Would you attend a wedding on Friday the 13th?

It did give me some great ideas for the reception. I was having trouble with the 3 color scheme thing, not that I want a gaudy circus feel but I want it to be exciting. The ceremony will be formal but the reception I want everyone to have a blast and have it not feel so stuffy. I want the reception to be decorated in all things considered good luck, like horseshoes, stars, clovers, etc. Also a lot of those things tie into old school tattoos, which me and my fiance have quite a few of, so we could also express that side of our personalities. There are so many things that can be done with that theme and done right it won't be tacky.

So what do you think...is it bad luck or just a superstition?
